The best time to photograph your newborn baby is ideally in their first 5-10 days.  This is when babies tend to fall into a heavier sleep and are less likely to wake up while being handled during posing.  They’re also more pliable to work with and ‘curl up’ nicely during their first two weeks of life. It is highly advised that you book your newborn photography session BEFORE YOUR BABY ARRIVES, that way I can tentatively book time during those first 10 days for you.  However, if your newborn has already arrived then please still contact me & I’ll always do my best to accommodate a client for a photography session.

 

 

'Newborn photography sessions' are held in my home studio using natural light where I have access to a various range of props.  The session takes approximately 2-3 hours which allows plenty of time for feeding and settling your baby so you can sit back, relax and look on without feeling rushed.

 

 

How Much?

 

Newborn Sessions are $300 and includes the following -

 

• Upto 20 edited High resolution images on USB

• 2-3 hour Session

• Parent and Sibling shots are included complimentary

 

 

What to Bring?

 

It’s a good idea for you to perhaps bring along a spare set of clothes for both your baby and yourself as sometimes little accidents can happen.  Also a couple of spare wraps or swaddles are handy to keep your baby warm in-between poses. Snacks for your toddler.

If you’d like to have some family portraits taken with your baby then i suggest that you dress in plain coloured clothing as patterns tend to be a little distracting. Simple colours like White, Cream, Beige etc work best.

 

What to do Before the shoot?

 

I recommend that you feed your baby before you leave home for your session, then the car ride will usually put them to sleep before you arrive.  Another tip is to dress your newborn in loose non-restrictive clothing to avoid leaving unwanted marks on their precious skin for photos.

What to expect?

 

Newborn Sessions are unpredictable as is any type of photoshoot involving children. Be prepared that your newborn or your child/children may be unsettled or may not feel like cooperating. We have to understand that and we also have to be patient. I will always try my best and persist to get amazing shot. Please also keep in mind that the studio will get quite warm.

 

 

 

• A 20% Deposit must be placed in order to secure your chosen date within 48hours of booking.

• Session Fees are due in full on the day.

• Your photos will be ready within 2weeks.
